Diagnostic Ultrasound & Cortisone Injections
Receive cortisone injections to reduce foot pain
Our endorsed senior podiatrist, Amy Hawker has completed further training to become endorsed to prescribe scheduled medicines and to use diagnostic ultrasound.
This means we can provide a range of additional treatments, including various injections to manage pain such as corticosteroid injection and long-acting anaesthetics.
At Stance Podiatry we can administer steroid injections (also called cortisone or corticosteroid injections) using ultrasound to reduce pain and inflammation associated with certain musculoskeletal and sporting conditions.
Ultrasound is an imaging technique that helps clarify structures in the foot, ankle and leg. We use our high-tech ultrasound for diagnosis of tendon, ligament, muscle and other soft-tissue injuries and guided ultrasound to ensure injections are placed correctly.
These injections are often not a first-line treatment but can be an important part of a comprehensive treatment plan. When used appropriately, steroids are safe and can be very effective for conditions such as neuromas, plantar fasciitis, plantar fibroma, cysts, arthritis, and more.
