Shockwave Therapy
Stance Podiatry offers Shockwave therapy for chronic conditions in Geelong, Surfcoast, and Bellarine Peninsula
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive and progression treatment modality used to help with chronic injuries.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a progressive treatment option used to help with chronic conditions which affect all parts of the body. Radial shockwaves are sent through a handpiece held piece into the underlying tissues to stimulate the healing factors and promote new tissue growth.
It is used here at Stance Podiatry to treat a number of conditions; Plantar Fasciosis, Stress Fractures, Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendinosis, Achilles Tendinitis, Shin Pain, Morton’s Neuroma, Metatarsalgia, and more.
In most cases, pain levels are reduced after 1-2 treatments. Shockwave is used in conjunction with conservative treatment options such as dry needling, mobilisation, taping, footwear management and exercise programs.
Depending upon your tailored management plan, the course of the shockwave treatment is generally once weekly for four weeks but in more severe cases more treatments may be required over 1-2 months to get back to normal activity.
We are excited that there is no additional fee on top of your normal consultation fee.
If you are suffering from a long-term condition and live in Geelong, Surfcoast or Bellarine Pennisula, please call us as we can help!
